Konnichiwa all. I started this journey from Kansas at 2:45 in the morning. That is when I left my house! Then it was about almost 6 hours on planes and 13 hours after I left, I was in San Francisco. It has been very nice to meet many wonderful teachers from coast to coast including Alaska and Hawaii, and from all disciplines of education. I find myself in awe at ideas and teaching philosophies everyone has.
It is pretty cool to instantly have 160 friends, provided the have the sacred FmF (Fulbright Memorial Fund) badge which is the key to get you into everything related to this program. The officials made it very clear that if you did not have your badge you will be sent home and to guard it with your life.
Currently I am waiting for the bus to the airport. My stomach has butterflies doing crazy flight patterns in my stomach. :{
