Kiss and Make Up

So after talking to my dad last night, I thought I would give a piece offering to all those who live in KS. I don't want to say that my hormones are making me mean or anything, but I think I am a little more verbal with my thoughts. :) So I apologize to any of you whom I may of offended. So as my piece offering, I am posting a hilarious video of Clint giving the cat a bath. This is the second bath the cat has gotten since we have had him. I'm a little afraid of bathing cats after having one cat bite completely through my thumb nail a while back. Anyways, when Wes is put into the tub, he immediately hisses, and puffs his hair. So look at his tail. I tried to get a good shot of it. What the video doesn't show is the cat jumping out of the tub dripping wet with water and soap, and running through the house with Clint and I chasing him. Then when we finally caught him, Clint almost lost him because he slipped out of his hands. We laughed the entire time. The nice thing about Wes is that generally he is a VERY tolerant cat and he doesn't hold grudges! Enjoy the video.

52% of you were right!

That's right, we're having a boy! The ultrasound tech was very nice and bubbly. We told her that we wanted her to write down the sex of the baby so that we could go home and be surprised. After doing all the measurements I asked if she would write it down, and Clint said, kind of sounding bummed, "Oh, I think I already know." He thought we were having a girl and we both though the tech had said something about "she won't turn" or something to like that. So we were both surprised when she said boy. I was surprised because I could tell from Clint's voice that he really wanted a boy and he sounded slightly bummed.

I'm happy and so is he. Aside from dressing a girl up in cute dresses and pretty bows, I wanted a girl to prove that it was possible for Clint's lineage to bear a girl. Clint's dad had all boys and his dad's dad had all boys, so I'm a little worried. Clint isn't worried and he was sure that we would get pregnant, so hopefully he will be right about having a girl! :)

Enjoy the pics!

Electricity, who'd have thought you'd miss it so much!

So in normal circumstances, this is how a "normal" electrical circuit would work. I don't think that Kansas has the word "normal" in their vocabulary. Our electricity went out on Monday night during the storm. We later found out that it was due to blown transformers and one broken electrical pole. So 29 hours later, our power was restored.

Here is the thing about power outages in Kansas. Winter power outage due to the ice storm, Clint and I had to vacate our house with our pets and take refuge at our Grandma's house because our house went down to 34 degrees. Not very enjoyable.

Power outage during the summer: Power goes out, and you suffer in heat and humidity! The night of power outage, we were o.k. with keeping the windows open and slept fairly comfortably. Last night when we got home our house was 78 degrees. I know that some people keep their air conditioning at 78 degrees, but I think it's WAY too hot. We suffered through the night and at about 1:20 our lights came on. YEAH! Part of me wants to blame the lazy people who don't trim their trees and keep their property nice. The other part of me wants to blame the power companies because they don't upkeep their lines. Guess their both at fault!

So now I get to brag about California. We would occasionally have "rolling black-outs" due to idiot de-regulating the power companies. But when the power goes out there, it's not usually a big deal. You may have to put some extra layers on or an extra blanket or open the house and wear less clothes maybe sweat a little. Either way, not a big deal.

So at this point of our lives, Clint, Grandma and I are very ready to go back! To move closer to the ocean, sit in hours of traffic while going to work, have wonderful views of smog while trying to find the mountains and attempt to keep up with the Joanses! But at least if we have a power outage we won't melt or freeze!

Summer Storm

So on Monday night we had a massive storm come through. Those of you who read my blog and got to experience the side ways rain, hurricane looking wind and trees and tornado sirens that we never hear, you don't need to watch!

For all those who don't live in this stupid state, enjoy the viewing.

Also, I analogize for the sideways shots. I was a little nervous about the storm, and well thought that the camera would adjust the shot on it's own I guess.

Enjoy the commentary also! HA!

BOY or GIRL???

That is the questions!!! On Thursday Clint and I are having our first and ONLY (provided everything goes o.k.) ultrasound! This is the ultrasound to make sure our baby has 10 fingers and toes, a head, legs and all other vital "parts." This is also the ultrasound that tells us if we are having a boy or a girl hopefully unless our child takes after his/her parents and is "difficult." Clint and I won't deny that we were handfuls.

You assignment: VOTE. Poll is on the top left side of the blog.

Thanks for participating!

New Moon!

So many of you know I have an obsession with the Twilight series. My wonderful friend Jeanette showed me the light and brought me to this new obsession. We always have "discussions" about who is better, Edward or Jacob. For those who don't know the story, Bella falls in love with a very sexy, gorgeous, yummy vampire named Edward and Twilight is about their budding love. Then in the next book, New Moon, Edward abandons Bella thinking he is putting her in more harm then their love is worth. After months of deep depression, she sparks a "relationship" with Jacob. It is never as deep as her love for Edward, but different. So Jeanette, I agree, Jacob is different then Edward, but NOT BETTER! LOL. :)
So maybe after watching the trailer for the movie, I may open a soft spot for Jacob. In the book I thought of him as a squirmy, pubescent, goofy, weak, "boy" while Edward is an elegant, strong, handsome MAN! The trailer put a "new light" on this "boy" and maybe I'll like him a little more! We'll see some time after Nov. 20th, sometime... probably won't be going to the movies with a new born...but I think I can wait until it's released on DVD and thankfully my husband is "guyish" enough that he it was his idea to get a moderately sized flat screen and my dad's "guyish" tendencies to get us surround sound for Christmas many years ago.

So enjoy the trailer and I hope many of you have read the books because I'm sure I ruined some things and hopefully I will convince you at some point that the books are totally awesome and VERY wroth reading!

P.S. Check out the new Voki. Jeanette will especially love it!

Adorable Animals

So I've been pretty bored at home with no hubby and no job. I was very thankful for summer school to start. :) Hence the cat pics. Well last week I had our missionaries come over and help me do some yard work and wash the dinning room rug so that Clint wouldn't have to wash both rugs that we have. Apparently the cats feel that anything that changes in the house is free territory for them. Boxes, piles of clothing, rolled up rugs. Anyways, I thought they were pretty cute because they were crawling in and our of the rug and O.C. looks like he was claiming the rug as his as he laid his tubby body over the middle. :)
There are also two pictures of Wes on the bed. Before I took the picture, he was actually sleeping completely on his back with his paws up in the air! I was just about to take a picture, but the camera made some adjusting noises and made him turn to look at me. He's cute any ways!

Check out my new gadget! Top left side of the page. Let me know what you think of her voice too! :) Cracks me up every time I hit the play button!
