Horseshoe crabs

I got to hold a Horseshoe crab today! Bryan was holding one the first time and totally turned into the teacher. He was informing us about these interesting creatures. The picture of the lighter colored crab is a baby and they don't know if it is male or female yet because those characteristics haven't been developed yet. Male Horseshoe crabs have a rounded area at the front of their head and have hook pinchers where the female doesn't. I asked if I could hold one. It was exciting because it looks like they will sting you or pinch you, but they won't. What an exciting day.
