Bug Festival and Dongdaemun Cultural and History Center, Seoul, South Korea

Clark and I went up to Seoul to go to the "Bug Festival" which is open every day of the year. And the name is a little misleading since they had more "other creatures" then they had bugs!

On the plus side, there were a ton of snakes to hold!  Clark and I LOVED it!  Only wish Clint could have come too!

Momma ball python!

Blue tongued Skink. Sorry the picture is blurry. I was having operator errors with my camera yesterday!

Baby snakes! Momma was the first snake Clark held...

...and this was the daddy snake.

Then our guide brought out one of the big snakes!  This was the first and ONLY time I have ever been to Seoul and not been surrounded by a bazillion Koreans!  In face it was just our small group! 4 boys and 2 Mommas!  Amazing!

I'm happy the snake wrapped itself around my leg and not my neck!  Not that I let the guy put the snakes around our necks, even though he tried a lot!

This guy looked mean!

Beautiful King Snake

It was an iridescent black!

I was mentioning to my friend that Clint had a Red Tail Boa and the guide said "Red-uh tail Boa?" And went and got this snake!

Then he pulled out the GIANT Reticulated Python!

He had to get the snake stick because the snake wasn't happy about being uncurled!

He said it was 4 meters long so about 13 feet.

Man, was it a heavy snake!

I couldn't lift it above my knee so I just let it rest there! This was definitely my favorite part of the trip!

The 55 year old tortoise.

Baby turtles!

Jack and Shelby, you have been challenged to create a Meme for this picture! I will post it on my next blog post!

This one was a female because of the indented under shell. Seems like the female would need the extra space to store eggs until they are laid.

Going with the guide to get a fish to feed the alligator with!

Lunch time!

Clark got to feed this long neck turtle.

Clark was very enthusiastic to hold snakes, spiders not so much!

He even showed us how the tarantula makes a web!

Stag beetle.

Here is a video of Clark holding the Stag Beetle. He said, "Uh, how do I get it off?"

Then the guy started to fish around for something in this dirt pile.

Stag Beetle Larva!

Gigantic!

Corn Snake!

Green Tree Python.

The only one the guide put a glove on to hold!

Giant rodent.

Kangaroor Rat.

Rabbit!

Chinchilla.

Clark was explaining that this fish had whiskers like Wesley. It was a catfish!

Chipmunks.

Skunk!

Prairie Dog.

Rat.

More Turtles.

Clark got really comfortable with them!

Clark was so comfortable with the turtles that he started to play games with them, like smash their faces into each other.

Or pretend they are spaceships.

Snapping turtle that attracts fish by wiggling something on it's tongue and then once a fish comes to bit the "worm" it snaps down and eats the fish.

Hello human!

Car noises were bein made at this point!

More vrooming!

"Look at it's feet Mom!"

These were all made from paper.

There was a make up display upstairs!

Following the leader.

Old Stadium that also has the Fortress Wall going through it.
