Crazy boys and hiking

When Clint and I first started thinking about having children I would think about what they would look like and how they would act. My first thought was, we're screwed! We were both wild children growing up, giving our parents a run for their money and got ourselves into lots of trouble. I definitely see that side in Clark. He's mischievous and tests the limits daily. That's on top of always being on the go and constantly getting into things.
We have this little chair that Clark's great grandfather made my dad way back when. Although Clark's not quit big enough to sit in the chair by himself, he does like to take the burp clothes out from under it. That's one of the things about us, I have to have stashes of burp clothes around the house for him and his favoirte thing is to pull them all out and throw them around the room. Terror on my hands I tell you! Although the spitting up has decreased dramatically and it almost never happens as long as I don't eat tomatoes. Do you know how many things have tomatoes in them?!

See this cute face? Looks sweet enough, but I'm sure he's plotting my demise one day. Constructing ways of escaping the gated off areas or ways in which he can get himself into trouble, but not too far away from mommy.

Of course the things we absolutely don't want him to do are the things he tries to do first. Like put his hands all over the wall outlets. They are all covered, but he still likes to touch them.

This is Clark practicing his kissing technique on the glass door. Trouble I tell you!

Then that brings us to his father. My adorable husband who manages to get himself into another kind of trouble. I told you a couple of weeks ago that he crashed his mountain bike and really hurt himself. While he's still broken, he is healing, but it's a slow and painful process for BOTH of us. He's not able to sleep very well because he's pretty sure that despite what the doctor's and the ER told him he thinks his ribs are broken, as is his wrist. His scrapes and gouges are doing much better though.
This is a picture of Clint on our hike yesterday.

I made him stand still so I could take the picture because I wanted to show you his true survival skills.
He forgot to put sunscreen on his healing arm (you didn't see how bad it was because it was covered by a bandage on my last blog post). He has new skin growing and it's bright pink and very fragile. When we first left for our walk it was cold and he had a sweater on, hence forgetting to put sunscreen on his wound. So he made a mud paste to cover up the new skin and protect it from the sun. I'm proud of him!

These next two are us at the top of the ridge behind our house. Where we live right now is off to the right, but you can't see it. This is just the "little" gated community that my parents live in. It's about the size of Manhattan, KS, but it's pretty. :)

Clark was there too, but he was in the stroller sleeping.

Oh and my last little bit of happy news and fun fact about me/us: 1. We are in escrow on a town house and hopefully will be in our own house by Clark's First birthday. Speaking of Clark's birth, since I went to the hospital to give birth to Clark I have lost 65lbs! Clint said that's cheating since I had a baby, but I still had to work it off, so I'm counting it! :)

All the pounds definetly count. Way to go! Love the pictures- Clark's hair is so cute! Clint's mud paste is brilliant. He's a regular survivalist. Love you guys!

Looks beautiful out there :) And it's not like Clark was 65 pounds! So of course those pounds count. I was actually looking at the last picture and thought "Wow, Jen looks really good". So there, I thought it before you had to read it (not that you looked bad before or anything).
