DMZ

This monument has 86 stones from 64 different countries from battlefields dating back to 1191.

Last train that was destroyed so South Koreans couldn't travel to North Korea.

The DMZ's version of Hollywood.  Hand prints form famous Koreans.

These seals were at the base of flags from around the world that were part of a memorial to the United States.

Representing how a divided country can become one again.

In this first section of the DMZ tour, they was a kids amusement park, with a train that went around the American Monument.

Statue of President Truman.

Our lunch stop.

I have now figured out that Clark gets his one picture smile quota from his dad.  Note how the picture with his mom, he was smiling, but the second picture with me his smile allotment was used up!

Hanging squash.

Monument outside of Tunnel 3.

Tunnel 3 was discovered after a defector told South Korean officials about it.  There are suppose to be 24 tunnels but only 4 have been discovered.  If you want more information check out here.

And that would be North Korea.

There is the North Korean Flag Pole. It is the 3rd largest flag pole in the world. The flag itself weight 500 lbs and takes 30-40 men to lower or raise. If the flag is damaged a new one is up the very next day.

Propaganda Village

President Bush came to visit during it's completion.

This train station was designed to unify North and South Korea and allow for train travel on the Eastern Hemisphere.

The blue building on the left is the one that North and South Koreans meet for talks and the room we were in.
