Family and Friends on Thanksgiving

Today we had Thanksgiving dinner with Clint's grandma and Clint's friend from school. It was a delicious dinner. I was pretty useless today since I'm trying to get over this stupid cold. Clint and Grandma did much of the cooking and they did a superb job! Enjoy the pictures of our family!

Clark on Thanksgiving Day

Here are some pictures of Clark while waiting for Thanksgiving dinner. Although there are some pictures of him sleeping, he actually was awake for a big portion of the day. There was too much going on for him to stay asleep for long periods of time.

Our first family outing

This weekend Clint and I bought a new stroller. We got a Baby Jogger City Mini. We wanted a stroller that was petite but capable of doing some off roading. The city mini is simple and folds up the smallest of all strollers we have looked at. There was one problem in that we picked a Chicco car seat and the car seat adapter for the stroller wasn't compatible, or so they say! We went to the nice baby store in town and made them open the car seat adapter box (sold in a separate box) so that we could test the car seat with it. It worked, so we got to get the stroller we wanted.

Since today was a nice day and not too cold outside, we took Clark on our usual dog walk route which is about 2 miles from our house, behind the vet school, over by the cow pens and back. We like this route because once we get behind the vet school we can take the dog off his leash which he LOVES. The new stroller handled the terrain really well despite the start we had. Clint had the stroller and scared himself as he rolled it off the stairs out of our house. I don't think he was expecting the stairs to be so close. Then while in the drive way, he let go of the stroller to zip up his jacket and the stroller went rolling into the lawn. At least it was the lawn and not the street.

I included pictures of Clark in one of his cold weather outfits. The suite says 0-3 months. He's not even close to filling it in. The arms and legs of the outfit and a good 6 inches or so past his little arms and legs. I still think he looks pretty cute in it and we didn't have to worry about him being too cold.

We had a great time, I enjoyed getting out in the fresh air, and the dog really loved it. I was pretty exhausted once we got back though. We also went back to church for the first time with Clark. Many people commented on how tired we looked. I think the walk was partly to blame. :) I didn't realize how much I missed church and I realized how many new people we have gotten in our ward. Seems like it's a completely different ward then before Clark was born!

Clark handled going to church great. He even got to embarrass his parents! While in our Gospel Essentials class, a class of about 15 people, Clark started to fuss. So I took him out of the car seat, in hopes that he would sleep a little better. Instead he totally disrupted the class by passing gas rather loudly then screaming. Pretty embarrassing!

New Moon

Last night I left the baby in capable hands of his great grandma and his daddy and had a girls night. SCARY!!! Actually I think I handled it just great and had a REALLY good time. My friend Jeanette hosted a pre-movie party at her house. Pictures of the party can be found on her blog at: http://jeanettesmommymusings.blogspot.com/

I can actually say I loved the movie way more then the book. New Moon was my least favorite book out of the 4 in the series. Mostly because Edward abandons Bella and she's forced to bond with wimpy Jacob. In the book I felt that Jacob was just this wimpy, immature kid that was friends with Bella and interfeard with her true love for Edward. The movie showed Jacob in a different light. I'm sure it helped that the actor is pretty darn good looking and there were LOTS of scenes of him without a shirt, showing his tan, muscular body. These things help make a movie good. :) The book mentioned these aspects, but in this case, it was much better to have someone else show me what something looks like instead of just tell me!

So for those of you who haven't seen the movie, it's definately worth watching, but only after you have seen Twilight or read the books. Well, I think watching the movies in sequence will help. :)

Oh, and I'm sure that most of you want to know that I did think about Clark SEVERAL times through out the night being that this was the first time away from him. It helped knowing that he was in loving hands with plenty of milk for him in the fridge. :)

Enjoy!

Two Weeks Old

So this isn't the best picture, but I've been feeling presure to get some new pictures up and give you all an update. I'm blaming the camera!

Clark is on his play gym that his Uncle Jack got him. Clark christened the play mat by spitting up a giant amount onto the mat! We've been having spit up issues.

Clark and I have been establishing a routine and dosing pretty good. We've had a couple of nights that he hasn't slept that well. He has a couple of times in the day that he's awake and alert. It's fun to just hang with him.

As for me, I'm loving staying at home and being his mommy!

One Week Old

We've had Clark home for almost a week now. My mom and dad left on Friday and Clark and I have been figuring out how to function by ourselves. So far, I'd say we're doing a pretty good job. It actually easier during the day then in the middle of the night. Last night he really learned how loud he can scream. Screamed so loud that it hurt my ears! Didn't help this horrible headache I've been battling since Saturday. Stupid hormones! Anyways, not that he isn't adorable awake, when he's not screaming, but he's pretty darn cute sleeping.

Clark's Arrival Home

We got to come home today! Hurray!!! Clark fit into his car seat with out a problem, rode home in style, didn't fuss one bit and was welcomed by grandparents and our animals with out a problem. Reiner is a little worried about upsetting things, but all of the animals are being respectful. They are keeping their distance, but look interested. It's nice that no one has hissed or barked at him. Wes has been a little loud, but that's just because he missed us. Clark has been very alert and taking in his new surrondings.

Clark's First Visitors

Due to the hospital's new rule that no one can visit, Clark's grandparents had to come see him from the room's window and talk to us via cell phone. It was nice to have the opportunity to show them Clark, but frustrating that I was trapped in the hopsital and couldn't have them come in the room.

First Day of Life

Here are some pictures of Clark and Daddy.

Clark David Wayland

We arrived at the hospital at 11:30 am after being told not to come in at 7 am because there wasn't any rooms available. After a few hours of contractions I finally decided to get an epidural. Throwing up is where I draw the line! The epidural was WONDERFUL! Then about 9:30 I started to push. After 2 hours of difficult work, the doctor came back in and said, he's not moving down, so you can either keep trying to we can do a c-section. This of course terrified me because it was not what I wanted. So I tried some more for another hour even more determined. Unfortunatly, nothing changed. So at around 12:30 we went into the operating room and I was cut open. Clark arrived at 12:48 am on November 1st. 8lbs 7 oz, 21 inches long with a head cercumference of 12cm. No wonder he didn't fit! Anyways, enjoy the pictures. We'll be in the hospital for a while longer as I recover. We'll keep pictures coming in the coming weeks.
