So I don't have a new picture of the little man yet for you, but I thought this one was fitting. Clark had his 1 month check up today. It was HORRIBLE! He's healthy, but the experience was TERRIBLE. At the doctor's appointment they ask you to take off all your baby's clothes and diaper off so they can get an accurate weight. Then you can only put the diaper back on. You would think that since Clark's a boy that naturally he'd like being naked. Not the case. He HATES it, which makes baths and doctor appointments difficult. So while I waited with Clark, he wailed and fussed. I didn't want to feed him to only have the doctor walk in two seconds after he started to eat, but after a few minutes I couldn't stand seeing my child suffer. He was a much happier baby after he got some food in his tummy. I think the doctors are late on purpose so that you can do such a thing and they have happy babies to look at.
As for the specs on the kid:
He now weighs 10lbs 14 1/2 oz which is the 73%. He's 22 inches long which is the 67% and his head circumference is 39 3/4 cm which is the 75%. The doctor said that he looked good and was very patient and gave me ample opportunity to ask crazy new mom questions.
Then came the worse part (hence the cartoon picture): He got his second Hep B shot. Me, not having done this before, and being distracted by all the crying, didn't mentally prepare myself for my child getting a shot. The new nurse pulled out this GIANT needle and you could tell she was nervous about giving the shot. She did a pretty good job, but I felt horrible that I couldn't explain to Clark that it would only hurt just a little while and that he'd be fine. The nurse stuck the needle in, and he jumped then the realization of pain set in and he started to scream. Daggers to my heart! Then I had to wait for the nurse to give the shot, pull the needle out and put a band aid on before I could pick him up and hold him. Some how I managed not to cry, and Clark actually stopped crying once I picked him up. Next time Clint has to go with me! He gets lots of vaccinations at his next appointment.
All this was also after I put a scratch in Clint's car while trying to get the car seat in. We have a very small garage and I nicked the tail light with the car seat, scratching it. It looks like it has a dirt mark. I thought that the tail light would be a good place for a scratch because if you couldn't fix it, you could easily replace it. Unfortunately, the paint would have been easier to fix and wouldn't cost so much! Oh well, I knew I'd be the fist person to put a scratch in the car. At least it's over with.
